Smart Hotel Saslong - Santa Cristina, Italy
The Dolomites, or Monti Pallidi (pale mountains), declared a World
Heritage Site by UNESCO in June 2009, are mountains of
extraordinary and incomparable beauty, representing a genuine
paradise for nature lovers, hikers, climbers, sports enthusiasts and
aesthetes. Their geological origin provides a point of interest and curiosity.
250 million years ago, they formed an immense coral barrier reef in the
ancient Tetide Sea. In the heart of the Dolomites is Val Gardena, and Santa
Cristina - an important town in the heart of the same valley - is where the
brand new SMART HOTEL SASLONG will be opening in December
2010. This new, modern structure, built entirely in larch wood - a typical
wood of the alpine area – boasts ‘KlimaHaus’ energy efficiency status. The
high standards reached offer a quality of living that is superior to conventional
homes, all the while saving on precious energy. Smart Hotel Saslong
belongs to the Hartmann Hotels group, owned by the Prinoth family, which
has been successfully operating in the tourism business for four generations.
Their formula is an innovative one, focusing on offering only the essential
services, intelligently chosen and rendered with maximum quality. The hotel
has made a strict and coherent choice by embracing the ‘smart’ philosophy,
where less is more, without forcing the guest to pay for services that are not
required. A good night’s sleep is guaranteed, with a top quality bed and
compliance with soundproofing and blackout criteria. Each bathroom will
be fitted with a ‘king size’ shower with an abundance of water, while cuttingedge
solutions in technology take the form of large screen HD TV and WIFI
connection. Breakfast moves away from the usual buffet of pre-packed
products to offer only high quality, fresh, local produce. Finally, the services
offered to guests take efficiency to new heights. Skiers, for instance, can
avail of a ski pass service in the hotel, direct transfer by ski bus, and ski/
snowboard hire directly from the home. The result? They are up on the
slopes in a flash. Where interior décor is concerned, the Prinoth family has
opted for excellence in design, entrusting the project for this brand new
structure to Arclinea. A coordinated ‘turnkey’ project: from the inviting,
spacious bedrooms in larch wood, to the kitchen, the dining and breakfast
room, right down to the cosy ‘Saslong Corner’, a lounge area dedicated to
guests for pleasant conversation and relaxation.
The project will be detailed in the next issue of Arclinea Magazine.
